Tax exemption for goods and equipment imported for Culture-Based Freshwater Fishery Industry project

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Fisheries to exempt the related taxes for the goods and equipment planned to be imported for the implementation of the Culture-Based Freshwater Fishery Industry project. funded by the Government of Japan implemented by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization.

By the implementation of the project it is expected to increase freshwater fish production in selected reservoirs in Anuradhapura, Batticaloa, Mullaitivu and Monaragala districts.
