Sysco LABS Gamers triumphant at Mercantile E-sports Championship 2021
Demonstrating stellar gaming prowess, teams from Sysco LABS Sri Lanka, the captive innovation centre for Sysco Corporation, the global leader in foodservice, triumphed at the Mercantile E-sports Championship 2021 held recently.
Sysco LABS won several accolades for the team games including a gold medal in the Women’s Dota 2 tournament and a Bronze medal in the Call of Duty Mobile tournament.
The Mercantile E-sports Championship Tournament organized by Gamer.lk, the leader in E-sports and Digital Entertainment experiences in Sri Lanka, is recognised as the largest annual mercantile-level sporting event. The 2021 edition was held for the 6th consecutive year with over 800 players taking part. The entire Championship was held virtually, allowing employees of Sri Lankan companies to participate from the safety of their home or office.
Representing Sysco LABS, Tikiri “Stardust” Diasena won the gold medal in the women’s DOTA 2 (1vs1) matches, finally emerging victorious and securing the Champion’s title, winning against competitors from six other organizations.
In the Call of Duty Mobile tournament, the five member Sysco LABS team battled against 26 companies and secured the bronze medal after overcoming opponents and winning several games. The Sysco LABS Call of Duty Mobile team comprised of Ishan “Captain Ninja” Jayatilaka as team captain, accompanied by Sajeban “Professor” Antonyrex, Sharounthan “Sharou_Str” Balenthiren, Nadun “glutteny” Indunil and Menusha “mPaddy” Prithiviraj .
Sysco LABS’ success at the 2021 Championship resonates the positive culture within the company which encourages employees to engage in healthy competition together with camaraderie and teamwork.
The Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka (AHK Sri Lanka) proudly facilitated the first-ever Sri Lankan delegation’s participation at Drupa 2024, the world’s largest trade fair for the printing industry and technology. Held after an eight-year hiatus, Drupa 2024 was a landmark event, marking significant advancements and opportunities in the global printing industry.
