Surplus funds of Warrior Trophy distributed among clubs

Officials of Army SC, Navy SC, Air Force SC, CH & FC and Havelock SC who received the funds (1-3) Group Captain Subash Jayathileka -Chairman SLAF SC/Member Steering Committee, Major Manoj Bandara – Asst Manager SL Army SC and Inspector Kumara Samarakoon – Manager, SL Police SC receiving the cheque from Harsha Samaranayake, Senior General Manager – Brand and Media, Dialog Axiata PLC. (4-5) Roshan Opatha – Manager Havelock SC, Udani Edirisinghe, Treasurer, Organising Committee / Manager CH&FC SC receiving the cheque from SDIG Ranmal Kodituwakku. (6) Lt. Commander Sasiri Wickramanayaka – Manager/ Secretary SL Navy SC receiving the cheque from Group Captain Subash Jayathileka - Member Steering Committee.

The steering committee of the Warrior Trophy with title sponsor Dialog Axiata PLC recently distributed the surplus funds from the tournament’s sponsorship to the six clubs that played the tourney. Twelve players who played in the Warrior Trophy 2021 and represented Sri Lanka at the recently concluded Dialog Asia Rugby 7s in Dubai, UAE, also received a cash award for their dedication and hard work towards the sport of Rugby in Sri Lanka.

The Warrior Trophy was held in October 2021. Sri Lanka Air Force stunned Sri Lanka Police (24-0) in the Cup final at Police Park to be crowned as champs.
