Sun Siyam Pasikudah reveals opulent getaway amid lively festivities along the Eastern shoreline
Sun Siyam Pasikudah, a distinguished boutique luxury retreat in Sri Lanka, unveiled its transformed five-star haven on the East Coast during a dazzling celebration held at Virticle by Jetwing on Nov 22. The resort, part of Sun Siyam Resorts’ boutique collection, hosted esteemed travel agencies, media, and notable personalities like former Minister Daya Gamage and Eastern Province Governor Senthil Thondaman. This event marked the culmination of extensive renovations, spotlighting the property’s unique experiences and its ongoing contribution to the country.
The CEO of Sun Siyam Resorts, Deepak Booneady, commenced the event with a welcoming speech, followed by remarks from Arshed Refai, the General Manager, and an insightful resort presentation by Dulanka De Mel, the Sales and Marketing Manager at Sun Siyam Pasikudah.
Amid Sri Lanka’s resurgence as a top tourist destination, Sun Siyam Resorts reasserted its commitment to the island nation. Originally launched as Sun Aqua Pasikudah in 2014, the property rebranded in 2020, joining the Sun Siyam Resorts collection as Sun Siyam Pasikudah.
The reopening signifies a fresh chapter in Sun Siyam Pasikudah’s dedication to offering unforgettable experiences set against Sri Lanka’s natural beauty. The boutique retreat, nestled on the pristine eastern coastline, offers 34 spacious and contemporary pavilions—ranging from one-to-two-bedroom garden or beach setups, some with private pools—providing an exclusive coastal experience for couples, families, or groups.
The resort’s interior design, a collaboration by Studio Sixty7’s founders Lee McNichol and Jose Rivero, embodies a boutique 5 concept with bold monochromatic tones and golden accents, complementing Pasikudah’s vibrant coastline.
Sun Siyam Pasikudah boasts distinctive culinary experiences, including The Cellar, Sri Lanka’s largest eastern coast wine cellar, the Tea House offering a vast tea collection and tea-tasting experiences, Slice & Grill for poolside casual dining, and the Beach Shack, an exotic beach paradise serving tropical beverages.
The resort invites guests to explore Sri Lanka’s wonders, from underwater adventures, snorkeling, and scuba diving along vibrant coral reefs to thrilling activities like jet-skiing, kayaking, and tube rides. Couples seeking romance can enjoy sailing excursions or private dining under the stars. For adventurers, day-long safaris to iconic destinations like Sigiriya Rock, Dambulla Cave Temple, whale-watching, and wildlife safaris at Minneriya National Park are available.
