Sun directly above some places in SL

The Meteorological Department yesterday announced that the Sun would be directly above several places in Sri Lanka from today until 07 Sept.A showery condition is expected in the south-western part of the country in the next few days starting from 28 August, according to the Met Department.

Several spells of showers would occur in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, and in the Nuwara-Eliya, Kandy, Galle and Matara districts, the Department said.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Uva province and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the evening or night.General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thunderstorms.
