Stock trading stands on the green pitch

Stock trading at the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) was positive yesterday with trading in LOLC Group of Companies dominating the market while companies that recorded positive quarterly results also spurring the trade activity, stockbrokers said .

Index heavy LOLC contributed mainly to the all share price index appreciating its share price by 5% or Rs 18.20. Its share price started trading at Rs, 361.75 and at the end of the day its price moved upto Rs 380. All share price index was up by 56.6 points and S& P SL 20 up by 26.6 points.

Turnover stood at Rs 3.16 billion without recording a single crossing .In the retail market top five companies that mainly contributed to the turnover were LOLC Rs 698 million (1.83 million shares traded ),Expo Lanka Rs 233.8 (4.96 million shares traded ),Browns s and Company Rs 170 million (936000  shares traded ),Browns Investments Rs Rs 160 million (24 .8 million shares traded )and Hayles fabrics Rs 129.8 million (6.6 million shares traded ). During the day 96.27 milliom shares change hands in 26,884 trades.
