STF veteran passes away

DIG Widanagamage Dinath Ayasa Karunaratne passed away on 14 Feb. Having joined the elite Special Task Force (STF) as a Sub Inspector in April 1985, he served the paramilitary arm of the police department till 2018. Subsequently, he joined the regular police and held a number of posts. Ayasa leaves Mangalika Kumari whom he married in 1986, and two daughters. His remains lie in state at No 124, Pichchamal watte, Gurudeniya. Funeral at Mahaiyawea cemetery tomorrow (17) at 4 pm with full police honours.
