STF nabs robber gang with fake Army IDs, recover toy pistol, 10 million rupees, and heroin

The STF on Monday (11) arrested a gang who had carried out a number of crimes by terrorising people with a toy pistol.
The police commandos made the initial breakthrough during a raid at the New Kelani Bridge at Sedawatta, Ambatale, where four suspects with fake Army IDs were caught.
Based on the information they provided, the STF arrested two other people transporting heroin in a three-wheeler. The suspects were carrying 7.3 grams of heroin and a toy pistol.
The arrests led to the recovery of 10 million rupees from the suspects.
Under interrogation, the gang gave details of a number of crimes they had staged using the toy gun to scare victims. The suspects are between the ages of 26 and 43.
