STF catches two drug dealers inside school in Hikkaduwa

The STF on Wednesday arrested two drug dealers inside a school at Hikkaduwa with nine grams of heroin.The police commandos carried out the operation following a tip-off received by the Ratgama STF camp.The two drug dealers had been selling drugs to schoolchildren for some time, the STF said.One of the suspects is a 29-year-old woman and the other a 22-year-old man. Both are residents of Kalupe, Hikkaduwa.

A school teacher said that they had repeatedly informed the Hikkaduwa police of the drug dealers, but no action had been taken. “That’s why we informed the STF. The woman tried to swallow the drugs when she saw the STF, but they stopped her,” he said.The suspects were handed over to Hikkaduwa Police for legal action.
