STF arrests six with weapons

The STF has arrested six persons with sharp weapons at Kittampahuwa in Wellampitiya. The police believe the armed suspects were staying in the house with the intent to commit a serious crime.

Two swords, two machetes, a decker knife, a dagger and 720 milligrams of ICE (crystal methamphetamine) were also taken into police custody along with the suspects.

The Police said the suspects, aged between 27 and 31 years, were residents of Wellampitiya, Mattala and Kolonnawa.The arrest was made during a raid conducted on an alert from the STF intelligence operatives. The suspects have been handed over to the Wellampitiya Police by the STF for further investigations.
