State funeral of Mahanayake of Ramanna Nikaya on Sunday afternoon

The state funeral of the late Mahanayake of Ramanna Mahanikaya most Venerable Aggamaha Pandith Napana Pemasiri Thera will take place on Sunday afternoon at the S.W.R.D. Banadaranaike Vidyalaya Grounds at Pallekele.

The remains of the late prelate are lying at the Vidyasagara Maha Pirivena of Hurikaduwa in Menikhinna in Kundasala. People of all walks of life in large numbers have been paying their last respects to the late prelate from Wednesday (17) morning.

The late Nayake Thera was the 13 Mahanayake Thera of the Sri Lanka Ramagnna Mahanikaya.

Born in January 1923, he was 97 at the time of his demise.
