St. Servatius’ rout Richmond, Chamika takes five wickets for four runs

St. Servatius’ stunned Richmond with a huge nine wickets victory after left-arm spinner Viran Chamuditha and paceman Risinu Kithmuka picked up three wickets each to rattle the visitors for just 57 runs in the Under 17 Division I tournament first-round match at Uyanwatta Stadium on Wednesday.

In their essay St. Servatius’ reached the target in 14 overs as Chamarindu Nethsara scored an unbeaten 25 runs.

Richmond’s 57 runs however was not the lowest score of the day as Mahanama College, Colombo reduced Sri Sumangala College, Panadura to 46 runs before cruising to a seven wickets victory. Left-arm spinner Chamika Heenatigala who took five wickets for four runs was the hero as he completed impressive figures 8-6-4-5 in the massive victory.

Gimhan Rasanjana of Devapathiraja took the honour of scoring the highest knock of the day as he cracked 80 runs in 57 balls inclusive of five fours and five sixes to set the stage for Devapathiraja to register 129 runs victory over Revata.
