St. Joseph’s, St. Sebastian’s, Mahinda, Trinity commence quarter-finals today

Under 17 Division 1 Cricket Quarter-Finals  

The Inter School Under 17 Division I cricket quarter-finals which were halted to make space for Sri Lanka Cricket conducted the Inter Provincial Under 17 tournament will commence with Mahinda College, Galle meeting Trinity College, Kandy at Darley Road and St. Joseph’s College, Darley Road encountering St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa at Mount Lavinia today. Today’s quarter-finalists were the champions in their respective groups in the first round and they continued in the same form to reach the quarter-finals.

St. Joseph’s captained by Kenath Liyanage  beat Holy Cross College and Mahanama College, Colombo to secure their place in the quarter-finals. Sahan Dabare, Abishek Jayaweera,  Yenula Dewthusa and Dunick Perera were the batsmen and bowlers who lead their tallies in the tournament and they are expected to do well in the crucial encounter today.

St. Sebastian’s captained by Rayan Dissanayaka advanced to the quarter-final with a win over St. Anne’s College Kurunegala after beating St. Joseph Vaz’s College Wennappuwa in the second round.

Mahinda V Trinity at Darley road

 Mahinda captained by Kaveen Rukshan defeated Maris Stella College Negombo in the second round before edging out Revata College, Balapitiya in the pre quarter final to reach the quarter-final. Trinity beat D.S. Senanayake College Kandy and St. Anthony’s College Wattala in a row to reach where they are now.
