SriLankan summoned before COPE on Oct 07

Representatives of the national carrier, SriLankan Airlines had been summoned to the Parliamentary Committee on Public Enterprises on Oct 07, COPE Chairman Prof. Charitha Herath said yesterday.

The Committee is scheduled to discuss the issues related to the report sent to the Committee by the State Ministry of Aviation and Export Zone Development regarding the investigations carried out in after SriLankan Airlines Ltd. was summoned before COPE on July 07. A special meeting of the COPE members would be held on Oct 5 regarding SriLankan Airlines, the Chairman added.

The Sri Lanka Transport Board has been directed to appear before the COPE on Oct 6.

The Chairman said that the COPE meetings were scheduled to be held next week with the required officials being contacted online.
