sri lankan contingent to the Tokyo 2020 paralympic games
Sri Lanka’s Paralympians captained by the 2016 Rio Paralympics bronze medallist Dinesh Priyantha Herath will leave the island for Tokyo Paralympics on August 20. Herath who won the bronze in the T46 javelin throw is also a World Para Athletics Championship and Para Asian Games medallist. Others in the team include Samitha Dulan (F44-Javelin), Sampath Hettiarachchi (F64- Javelin), Palitha Bandara (F42 – Shot Put), Maduranga Subasinghe (T47- 400m), Kumudu Priyanka (T45/46 100m, Long Jump), Sampath Bandara (Archery), Mahash Jayakody (Rowing) and Ranjan Darmasena (wheelchair tennis). The Tokyo Paralympics will commence on August 24.
