Sri Lanka Under-16 qualify for FIBA Asia Championship

The Sri Lanka Under-16 basketball team overcame Maldives comprehensively in the FIBA Asia Qualifiers played at Sugathadasa Stadium and now are through to the main event to be held in Qatar next month.

Sri Lanka overcame Maldives in the curtain-raiser of the competition on Monday 97-51. India then beat Maldives 90-34 sealing the Maldivians fate. Sri Lanka and India will complete in the finals and will go through to the FIBA Asia Championship.
