Sri Lanka team leave for Davis Cup 

Sri Lanka’s 2021 Davis Cup team were scheduled to leave for Amman, Jordan today. Sri Lanka will compete in the Asia/Oceania Group III and the tournament will be played from September 15 to 20.

While former Davis Cup player Renouk Wijemanne is the coach and nonplaying captain, Yasitha de Silva and Thehan Wijemanne are the experienced players. De Silva will play his fifth Davis Cup. 2020 National Champion Wijemanne will compete for the second time. Ananda College player Vibuda Wijebandara and Stafford International player Chathurya Nilaweera will be competing in a Davis Cup team for the first time.
