Sri Lanka receives medicines worth USD 2.9 mn from Heart to Herat Int’l
Heart to Heart International has sent the eighth in-kind donation of urgent medical aid worth approximately $2,982,212.40 USD (i.e., LKR 985 million) to Sri Lanka. Facilitated by the Ministry of Health in Sri Lanka and the SL mission in the US, the consignment has arrived in Colombo via air on 26 October 2023. The latest donation includes specialized medicines such as Everolimus is used to treat advanced cancers or noncancerous tumors, such as kidney, pancreas, brain and breast cancer, the Foreign Ministry said.
Heart to Heart International has borne all expenses, and the donation will be received by the Ministry of Health for immediate distribution at no cost to the people of Sri Lanka.
