Sri Lanka Cricket Provides ‘Training Kits’ For District And Provincial Coaches
Sri Lanka Cricket handed over ‘Training Kits’ to 37 district coaches, 11 provincial coaches and 03 Provincial Talent Scouts who play an important role in identifying and preparing young cricketing talent from across the country for the future.
The training kits consisted of important training tools including Fielding Bats, Senior and Junior Balls, Side Arm, Plastic Stumps, Spring Wickets, Stop Watches, Stretch Bands and a cooler box.
Addressing the coaches who were at the RPICS to receive the training kits,Vice President of Sri Lanka Cricket. Ravin Wickramaratne who is in-charge of Domestic Cricket Operations said that the District and Provincial coaches, played an important role in promoting the game at the grassroots and identifying young and promising talent. He added that the a system would be put in place to assess their contribution to SLC’s National Youth Talent Pathway program.
Tim McCaskill, Head of the High Performance Center, and Kamal Dharmasiri, Head of National Development Council of Sri Lanka Cricket were present at the occasion.
