Sri Lanka are competing in the Asia/Oceania Billie Jean King Cup Juniors final qualifying which is now on in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. The tournament will conclude on May 7. Asia/Oceania Davis Cup Juniors’ final qualifying will be held during the following week.
Competing nations are Australia, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
The journey to the summit of the Billie Jean King Cup Juniors and Davis Cup Juniors podiums began in Colombo where pre-qualifying for the Asia/Oceania region took place. In Asia/Oceania, two nations in each competition progress from pre-qualifying to final qualifying, from where teams can advance to the finals.
In Colombo, hosts Sri Lanka and Kyrgyzstan enjoyed productive weeks and progressed to Billie Jean King Cup Juniors final qualifying, while Hong Kong and Indonesia have done likewise in Davis Cup Juniors.
