Sri Lanka Coast Guard combat fuel spill in Ravanagama Lake

Following an accident involving a  bowser transporting fuel in the Guruluwela area of Laggala, Matale on Sunday (05)  the Sri Lanka Coast Guard was called in to remove nearly 2000 liters of fuel that had leaked into the water of Ravanagama Lake.

A specialized team, comprising 03 officers and 10 sailors from the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, trained to handle oil spills,  were able to extract the fuel contaminated water from the Ravanagama Lake, by the evening of 06th May.
