Spike’s visual treat for music lovers

Spike is not a performer we see on stage, regularly. He is a creative artiste, who spends his time coming up with something new…for music lovers.

Since winning the ‘Best Rap Performance’ Award, in 2013, at the Derana Music Video Awards, for his debut release ‘Crossroads’, Spike, who is known as an Urban/Hip-Hop artiste, has been enthusiastically working on different vibes of music.

The latest is a Sci-fi music visual for his Dance-pop release, ‘I Wonder.’

Says Spike: In today’s music industry, music videos are focused more on visually-appealing aspects and concepts.

“With the attention of music lovers, nowadays, being broad and diverse, some artistes truly focus on that fact, and create mind-blowing visuals for their music releases.”

Adding that ‘I Wonder’ is a definite example of a visual treat for music lovers, and fans, in Sri Lanka, and all over the universe.

“A Sci-fi music visual in genre, the video for ‘I Wonder’ is a statement which raises Sri Lankan music industry boundaries,” he said.

Elaborating on this, Spike explained that being the first ever science fiction music visual, based on an intergalactic story line, ‘I Wonder’ brings a unique visual experience, packed with an energy boost: Spike, starring as a space traveller, along with glamorous Dulasha Jayawardhana, and Hary Nair, creates an unforgettable blockbuster Sci-fi movie experience.

The ‘I Wonder’ music visual is a concept by Spike himself, inspired by his fascination about space travel, and the universe, and scripted to a captivating storyline.

’I Wonder’ is a Dance-pop release, written by Spike, and produced by Hary Nair, who is a music producer, based in Chennai, India, and has produced music for major Bollywood and Kollywood films.

According to Spike, ‘I Wonder’ was premiered worldwide, on BBC Asian Network, and aired on YES FM, and Island Pulse Radio charts, and also featured in the Tamil movie Lakshmi (2018), starring Prabhu Deva, Ditya Bhande and Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead roles.

Spike, who is also one part of the local Urban music duo, Sanskruthi, has released music, in multiple genres, such as Dance-pop, Pop, Rap, Hip-Hop and RnB, under his independent record label SPIKEuniverse|Records (spikeuniverserecords.com).

His previous release, ‘Groove Mama,’ is a banger, with an energizing, hot music video which grabbed a lot of attention.
