Special police team off to Madagaskar to bring back Harak Kata et al

A special police team left the country for Madagaskar on Saturday (11) to bring back two criminals Nadun Chinthaka Wickramaratne alias Harak Kata, and Salindu Malshitha Gunaratne alias Kudu Salidu, and others recently arrested in Madagascar.
The team comprised two ASPs and two Chief Inspectors. Two of the team members were attached to the Police Commando Division, police said.Eight people, including the two international drug traffickers were arrested at Iwato Airport, Madagascar, on 01 March.
Harak Kata, is the leader of a drug trafficking network operating in several countries.
The Madagascar media say that a woman, who is said to be Harak Kata’s wife, and her father, were among those arrested at Iwato International Airport on 01 March along with five Sri Lankans.The group had arrived in Madagascar on 12 February in a private jet, posing off as a group of wealthy businessmen, Madagascar media reports said.
