Education Minister Susil Premjayantha has said that the State Printing Corporation (SPC), which was earmarked as a loss-making state enterprises to be restructured had been able to earn a profit of Rs 2 bn during one and a half years.

A statement issued by the Education Ministry quoted Minister Premjayantha as having said at an event at the SPC that he could turn around the state enterprise by effecting changes at key positions and re-assigning of specific responsibilities.

Bringing education institutions that had been under various other ministries back under the Education Ministry, too, had contributed to the improvement, he has observed. (SF)
