Soft-Edged Weapon

‘The Pearl of Great Price ‘;

That’s the name given to Her,

By ancients of the fabled Isle,

And, in a way, they were right,

For, She’s had elevating thoughts,

Coming to Her over the millennia,

From the noblest hearts and minds,

So much so, She should have crafted,

From the cultural capital thus acquired,

Sharp weapons of the Soft Power kind,

That could even restore Non-alignment,

And other paralyzed policies to life,

In the Indian Ocean racked by storms,

And where the drive for Bread and care,

Is by Hard Power ruthlessly put down.
