Smuggled stock of agrochemicals taken into custody in Kalpitiya

Security forces early this week recovered a cache of agrochemicals suspected to have been smuggled into the country, in the beach area of Erambugodella, Ettalai, Kalpitiya.

The operation involved the Navy and the Air Force.

Troops recovered sacks stuffed with a cache of weedicide, insecticide and unauthorised agrochemicals.

The cache of chemicals has been entrusted to the safe custody of the Navy pending further investigations.
