SLT-MOBITEL unveils ‘Entrepreneurship Studio’ initiative

Nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship in tech start-ups, SLT-MOBITEL unveiled its new groundbreaking initiative, the ‘Entrepreneurship Studio’ recently.

The programme is designed to provide an attractive opportunity for early-stage tech entrepreneurs to gain access to funding, mentoring and to building connections in the tech ecosystem, as they look to take their innovations to the next level.

Prospective candidates will be screened and selected to participate in a 12-16 week mentoring programme through a series of preparatory activities including training sessions, mentorship, coaching, workshops and boot-camps.

These participants will reap the benefits of the programme through knowledge and skills in advisory co-development, investment acquisition, and provided assistance to commercialize their technological solutions and support for setting up infrastructure.

The entrepreneurs will also be mentored in building business models around their technology, access to meet and build a network of investors, opportunities to pilot with selected customers and receive regulatory support for assistance in obtaining regulatory conformances such as IP rights, etc. A maximum of ten selected start-ups will receive up to LKR one million in funding.

The programme will include a Demo Day, where all selected start-ups will present their businesses to a panel of tech industry leaders, future investors and potential acquirers.
