SLT-MOBITEL, the National ICT, Telecommunications and Mobile Services Provider, joined hands with the Sri Sambodhi Foundation to provide free access and connectivity for students participating in online learning, through its ‘Sip Nena Dayada Programme’.

Sri Sambodhi Foundation donated tabs to deserving students and SLT-MOBITEL strengthened the scheme by providing connectivity free of charge, ensuring students who are impacted by school closures are no longer hindered in their access to education.

The first set of devices equipped with the SIMs were presented to students of the North-Western Province recently. The recipients were mainly students from rural schools in the province. Officials from The Buddhist Trust and Regional Managers from SLT-MOBITEL participated in the ceremony.

Following this event, students in Puttlam, Nikaweratiya and Ampara also received connectivity to ensure that they engage and progress in their education.

SLT-MOBITEL partnered the Sri Sambodhi in this corporate social responsibility initiative to support students’ island wide who face severe difficulties due to lack of access to connectivity and financial problems.
