SLPP retains COPE control

SLPP National List MP Prof Charitha Herath has been appointed the Chairman of the parliamentary watchdog committee on Public Enterprises (COPE).

 The COPE of new parliament met for the first time yesterday at the committee room section in the parliamentary complex. Prof Herath’s name was proposed to the post by Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage and seconded by State Minister Jayantha Samaraweera.
