SLPP MP Uddika resigns

SLPP Anuradhapura District MP Uddika Premarathne has resigned from his seat

In accordance with Section 64(1) of the Parliamentary Elections Act No. 1 of 1981, the Secretary General of the Parliament is to inform the Chairman of the

Election Commission that the seat of Premarathne, MP in the Ninth Parliament, is vacant.

Party sources said SLPP’s SC Muthukumarana, who secured the next highest number of preferential votes, will fill the vacancy created by Premaratne’s resignation.
