SLPP: Govt. will not step down
The SLPP MPs who met yesterday unanimously decided that the incumbent government should continue under the leadership of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The MPs decided that the government must be strengthened.
Several Ministers spoke on steps taken to provide relief to the people in the coming weeks.
Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekara said steps had been taken to resolve the fuel shortages and power cuts within a couple of weeks.
Minister Ramesh Pathirana added that gas shortages too could be resolved soon.
