SLPA officials meet World Bank Special Team and International Finance Corporation officials

The Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) delegation, led by the Secretary to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Aviation – K.D.S. Ruwanchandra, met with the World Bank’s Special Team for the transport sector and officials from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in the United States.

The delegation included SLPA Chairman – Keith D. Bernard and a team of executive officials. They are on a special visit to the U.S. as part of the Maritime Administration Program for SLPA, executed by the Colombo Plan and funded by the U.S. State Department.

During the meeting, the delegation discussed information on transport sector development, the latest trends, and issues related to the global port sector. The delegation also explored green energy trends in the port sector and on how ports can benefit from the latest strategic maritime developments.
