SLIIT and Bandaranaike Academy sign MoU to enhance IQ in human capital
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on February 13th 2024, between the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) and the Bandaranaike Academy for Leadership and Public Policy (BALPP).
The MoU was signed between SLIIT Chairman Prof Lakshman Ratnayake and Dr Tara de Mel (Executive Director, BALPP).
The MoU highlights details of potential collaboration between both parties, in academic partnerships that would facilitate mutual interests in promoting institutional development and academic enhancement, coupled with student training and academic exchanges. These programmes would primarily focus on disciplines that would create an intellectually advanced human capital that would have the capacity for innovation and creativity, with problem solving skills that would facilitate the task of nation-building in Sri Lanka.
The areas that have been prioritized include Leadership with Ethical Governance, Climate Resilience Policies, Technology in modernizing Agriculture, Environmental Science Policy and Sustainability, Policies for Ethical Use of AI and related Technologies, Leadership in Cybersecurity Governance, and other key areas.
The ceremony was attended by Uditha Gamage, Chief Student Officer , SLIIT, Prof. Arjuna Parakrama, Chief Research Officer, Aeshani Pereira, Chief Operating Officer and Gihan de Chickera, Chief Learning Officer of BALPP.
