Sirisoma’s match bag of 12 helps Air Force sink Navy at Katunayaka
A match bag of 12 by left-arm orthodox spinner Gayan Sirisoma helped Sri Lanka Air Force SC sink Sri Lanka Navy SC by 230 runs in the SLC Major League three-day tournament match played at Katunayaka.
Electing to bat first on their home ground Airforce scored 249 runs with Udayawansha Parakrama and Adithya Siriwardena chipping in with half tons. Dilanka Auwardt captured four wickets while Devinda Ayesh captured three wickets. Gayan Sirisoma captured seven wickets to restrict Sri Lanka Navy’s first innings to 113. Sahan Kosala topped the score card with 39 runs.
Air Force declared their second essay at 200/7 to which Sithija Chamod contributed with 69 runs. Devinda Ayesh was rewarded with four wickets. The sailors chasing 337 runs to win, once again fell victim to Sirisoma’s spin and were bowled out for 106 runs before tea.
