SLASSCOM recognises Ophtha Innovations for its work on diabetic retinopathy

Ophtha Innovations, a young startup, recently became the runner-up for the Best Disruptive Innovation/Western Province at the National Integrity Awards organised by the Sri Lanka Association for Software Services Companies (SLASSCOM). The national Information Technology (IT) – Business Process Management (BPM) chamber of Sri Lanka, SLASSCOM, recently organised the National Integrity Awards for the fifth consecutive year, honouring outstanding achievements in the field of innovation. Ophtha Innovations became the runner-up for the Best Disruptive Innovation in the Western Provincial Category. Ophtha was honoured for its groundbreaking solution that provides a cost-effective and accurate method for detecting, classifying, and localising the severity of diabetic retinopathy. This breakthrough technology enables early detection and treatment of the disease, significantly reducing the risk of blindness as well as minimising the overall cost of treatment.
