SLAF Chief gets six-month service extension

President Ranil Wickremesinghe has granted Air Force Commander Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana a six-month service extension. His term has been extended from Dec 30, 2022.

Air Marshal Pathirana was appointed as the 18th Commander of the SLAF by then President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. The veteran fighter pilot received the appointment on Nov 02, 2020.

A few weeks ago President Wickremesinghe gave one year extension to Army Commander, Lt. Gen. Vikum Liyanage, while Vice Admiral Priyantah Perera was appointed as the Commander of the Navy. (SF)
