SL workers stranded in UAE due to expiration of their passports: Ambassador Indraratne

Sri Lankan Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Udela Indraratne, has said the passports of Lankans working in Dubai and Abu Dhabi should be renewed immediately after their expiration.

Sri Lankan foreign workers are suffering due to the expiration of their passports.Inordinate said his Embassy had received the requests for renewal of about 5000 passports that had expired.He said Sri Lanka’s Immigration and Emigration Department had been informed of the situation, but no remedial action had been taken.
