SL author in London to launch his latest Sinhala poetry book via Zoom

Sri Lankan novelist Chandana Gunasekera will launch his latest Sinhala poetry book “Makuluwo, Me Seetha Kaalayayi” (Spider, this is winter) on July 18 at 7.00 pm (Sri Lanka time).

Due to the global pandemic situation, the book launch will be held virtually via Zoom. Ven. Batuwangala Rahula Thera, Professor Praneeth Abeysundara and Sudath Devapriya are scheduled to speak at the event.

The author, who lives in London, has translated into Sinhala three famous English novel, Heather Morris’ “The Tattooist of Auschwitz”, “Cilka’s Journey” and Stephen King’s “Pet Cemetary”. ‘Makuluwo’ is his own creative work.

Born in Anuradhapura, he is a graduate of the Peradeniya University. Later, he completed a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering.

After he migrated to the UK in 1995, he read for a Civil Engineering degree at “UK City University”. He now works as a civil engineer in London.
