SJB opposes reopening schools on Jan 11

The SJB yesterday expressed its opposition to the government’s plans to reopen schools on 11 Jan.

Addressing the media at the Opposition Leader’s office in Colombo, SJB Kandy District MP Mayantha Dissanayake said the reopening of schools would expose children to coronavirus. “We are against this move. We urge the government to put in place proper mechanisms to ensure the safety of children if it is determined to reopen the schools on 11 Jan.
