SJB says current Parliament has no legitimacy

SJB Kuruengala District MP Nalin Bandara told Parliament yesterday that Parliament would not be able to deliver anything good by implementing a National Council project.

Participating in the debate on the National Council establishment motion, the MP said: “We wish all the best for the council to be set up. But this Parliament no longer has legitimacy. The President controls the country and he is controlled by some other force.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe has to follow the dictates of the SLPP leadership, Bandara said.
