Six million doses of Pfizer vaccine may go to waste due to people’s reluctance to receive fourth booster dose

Over six million doses of Pfizer vaccine imported would expire on 31 October, Dr. Samitha Ginige, Head of the Epidemiology Unit said, urging the people to receive booster does.The Consultant Epidemiologist said, “Many people over the age of 60 have chronic diseases and they have not obtained the second booster. I urge them to get booster doses.” Dr. Ginige said that there were 14 million people over the age of 30 in Sri Lanka, and that the overwhelming majority of them had not taken the first two anti-COVID jabs.
