Sirisena summoned to make statement on Easter carnage

Former President Maithripala Sirisena was yesterday summoned by the police unit, attached to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) investigating the Easter Sunday carnage, to record  a statement on August 26.

Earlier, the PCoI issued summons on former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, former Law and Order Minister Sagala Ratnayaka and former State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene. They too are to make statements to the Police Unit.

Wijewardene is to arrive at the investigation unit today (18), while Wickremesinghe and Ratnayaka have been summoned on August 21.
