… claims to have written tell-all book

Former President Maithripala Sirisena, on Sunday, said the Rajapaksas had covered up a forensic audit report on the irregularities at the Treasury bond auctions at the Central Bank from 2007.

Sirisena said that the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the 2015-2016 bond scams had shown that bigger irregularities had taken place since 2007.

“I called for a forensic audit by a foreign company. Three international companies were entrusted with investigating three aspects of irregularities in the bond auctions since 2007. The report was released after my tenure as President ended. The Rajapaksas carried out a systematic campaign to convince the people that the forensic audit is unreliable. No one knows what has happened to this report,” Sirisena said, adding that he had written a book and it would make some revelations.

Sirisena teamed up with the Rajapaksas once again to defeat the UNP in 2018.
