Sing-along…for a worthy cause

Sing-along events are turning out to be quite popular, in the scene here, and I see them being advertised on social media – almost on a weekly basis.

However, this sing-along concert, with Lankika and the Golden Chimes, with guest artistes Keerthi Pasquel and Mariazelle Goonetilleke, is being put together by St. John’s Children’s Development Centre, Moratuwa, for a specific purpose – a worthy cause, indeed.

According to Lankika, this Centre is primarily for orphans – children from broken families and less privileged children.

The Centre has nurtured them, provided them with an education, self-confidence, and hope and inner strength to strive for a better and brighter future and to become responsible citizens of their society and country.

The Centre celebrates 100 years, on 27th, December, 2022, and the sing-along is to mark that occasion.

It will be held on 26th November, 2022, at the Holy Emmanuel Parish Hall, Moratuwa, at 6.30 p.m.

A song book, containing 60 songs of golden oldies (both Sinhala and English), will be given to every participant, free of charge, says Lankika.

Tickets, priced at Rs.1500 and Rs.1000, are available at the Holy Emmanuel Parish office, and St. John’s Home, Moratuwa.

You could check things out with Lankika Perera, on 0777782848.
