Showers or thundershowers expected in most parts of the island

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
A change in the prevailing dry weather of the island can be expected. Several spells of showers will occur in Eastern, Uva and Northern provinces. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, Southern, North-Western and North-Central provinces during the afternoon or night. Fairly heavy showers above 50mm are likely at some places in Sabaragamuwa Province.
Winds will be easterly or variable in direction and wind speed will be (15-25) kmph. Wind speed may increase up to (35-40) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
The sea areas off the coasts extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil can be moderate at times.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
