Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places over the coastal areas from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota during the morning while showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Northern,  North-central, North-western and Uva provinces and in Ampara district after 2.00 p.m.  Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces.

Winds will be south-easterly or variable in direction in the sea areas around the island. Wind speed will be (20-25) kmph.

Increase of swell waves (about 2.0 – 2.5 m) can be expected in the sea areas off the coast extending from Balapitiya to Pottuvil via Galle and Hambantota. These sea areas can be fairly rough at times. The other sea areas around the island will be slight but strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
