Show cause letters served on two male workers of Parliament for allegedly seeking sexual bribes
Two male staff members of Parliament have been asked to show cause by Nov. 10 as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against them for seeking sexual bribes from their female counterparts attached to the Housekeeping Department of Parliament.
Acting Secretary General of Parliament, Chaminda Kularatne on Friday (27) handed over to the two male workers including an assistant House Keeper.
They have been asked to submit show cause within 14 days, and failing to do so they would lose their jobs. They have already been suspended.
The two charge sheets have been prepared on the basis of evidence revealed during an investigation by a committee, chaired by Assistant Secretary General of Parliament Hansana Abeyratne.
The final report of the investigation is scheduled to be made public soon, Parliament sources said.
Over 20 female workers of the Housekeeping Department of Parliament have given testimonies during the investigation.
