Short film competition to mark World Day against Trafficking in Persons 2024
Every year, World Day against Trafficking in Persons is commemorated on July 30 to raise awareness of the plight of victims of human trafficking and to promote and protect their rights.
The International Organization for Migration, (IOM) – the leading UN migration entity has played a pivotal role in the counter trafficking sphere in Sri Lanka for more than a decade. IOM plays a crucial role in preventing human trafficking, assisting victims and providing technical support to the relevant state actors to effectively respond to the crime.
In commemoration of the World Day against Trafficking in Persons, IOM cordially invites the public to take part in the short film competition titled “Human Trafficking in Sri Lanka”.
The 3 themes of the competition are Trafficking for Sexual Exploitation, Trafficking for Forced Labour and Child Trafficking. The expected duration of the short film is 5 to 10 minutes and can be in Sinhala, Tamil or English language.
The top three winners will receive cash prizes and the best five short films will be screened at a Colombo cinema ahead of the World Day against Trafficking in Persons 2024.For more information: https://srilanka.iom.int/…/shortfilmcompetition2024.pdf or call 077 432 6425
