Seventh wicket stand helps Trinity recover

Skipper Manula Kularatne dropped anchor with 188-ball 93 runs for Trinity to post 267 for eight wickets declared after being six wickets down for 128 runs at one stage on day one of the Under 19 Division I Tier ‘A’ cricket quarter-final against D.S. Senanayake at Surrey Village ground on Monday.

Kularatne put on a seventh wicket stand of 113 runs with Janith Ravishka for Trinity to recover. He scored just seven fours in his innings. Ravishka was unbeaten on 69 runs when the declaration came.

In reply DSS were 15 for two wickets at stumps.

Kaveesha, Thisara fightback for St. Anthony’s

Kaveesha Piyumal and Thisara Ekanayake shared seven wickets between them for St. Anthony’s to fight back as they restricted Mahanama to 110 for seven wickets at close after bring bowled out for 205 runs on day one of the Under 19 Division I Tier ‘A’ tournament quarter-final match at Mount Lavinia on Monday.
