Senior Engineer Vijitha Herath assumes duties today as new Chairman of Sri Lanka Insurance

Senior Engineer Vijitha Herath will assume duties as the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Ltd.today.

Herath, who is also the Sri Lanka Podujana Engineers Front Chairman said that with the backing and visionary thinking of Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa his contribution would go along way to further strengthen Sri Lanka Insurance, which is the largest and strongest composite insurance provider in Sri Lanka.

It is the first and only insurance company in Sri Lanka to be assigned a prime AAA- rating for Insurance Financial Strength from the US rating agency Fitch Ratings of New York City. The company now manages assets worth over USD 1102 Million.

He also thanked President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa for having appointed him to the coveted post.
